Google rolls out Google Assistant Guest Mode

The Search Engine giant Google has unveiled a Virtual assistant Google Assistance back in 2016. The Artificial Intelligence powered, assistant, has become eminent in the short run and now used by more than 50 million users per month globally. Now Google is planning to update new privacy features and launch Guest mode in Google Assistant.

Privacy is one of the major concerns when an application is powered by technologies. Google Assistant is not exceptional in this case. It uses AI technology to read the input from users and respond to them accordingly. One can ask Google Assistant to set up an alarm, to do a search, to call a person, etc. It comes with an exciting benefit to enhance the customer experience. The major concern lies when the interaction between the user and Google assistant are saved. Privacy-related concerns have been raised in Europe and it instigates Google to launch new privacy features.

Google has handled the privacy issues smartly by creating a Guest mode feature and an enhanced Safety Centre to handle user’s concerns about Privacy and Security. Now one can enjoy Google Assistant in “Guest mode”. One can activate the guest mode by giving a voice command. The intriguing features are that once the guest mode is enabled, the interaction or conversation between the user and the assistant will not be saved or recorded anywhere. Secondly, the personalization feature will be disabled automatically as soon as the guess mode enabled. This new feature will be accessible on home devices and Nest products like Nest Hub and Nest Audio but yet to be rolls out on the smart speakers and smart displays in the fore coming weeks.

One can easily turn off guest mode if they want to get back personalized features. Once the mode changes back to normal, it will start recording the interactions and conversations. The recordings will be saved in the google account. The recordings can be deleted by the user or google will automatically delete them in a period of 3, 18, or 36 months. Further, the user has the privilege to delete the recordings, using the voice command. The application is updated with loads of answers in responding to general queries related to privacy and security concerns. Google is responding to more than 3 million questions per month with concerns related to privacy and security matters.
