It is already 2021 and LG has inculcated the habit of sanitizing almost all. From time to time, they even disinfect their devices and it is believed that this tradition is going to continue. The self-cleansing LG Tone Free earbuds, which were released worldwide sometime back, are now available in India. The charging case of the earbuds comes with UV light emitters that LG claims can destroy 99.9 % bacteria on the earbuds while charging them. For the Tone Free earbuds, LG uses UV Nanotechnology that also features powerful noise cancellation. For sound, this device uses Meridian Audio technology, including digital signal processing to create a realistic soundstage that simulates the listening experience of real loudspeakers. This function can be activated using the LG TONE FREE app on both iOS and Android devices. The app also features the sound equalizer settings and different modes for music, such as Natural, Bass Boost, and Treble Boost. There are two models: HBS-FN6 and HBS-FN7 of which the second one has only the UV Nano cleansing technology.

LG Tone Free’s top-tier model HBS-FN7 is priced at Rs 29,990 whereas the vanilla variant HBS-FN6 costs Rs 24,990. These TWS earbuds are more expensive compared to that of some premium ones which are available in the market like Apple Air Pods and Samsung Galaxy Buds Live. And it will be difficult for LG to sell the earbuds due to this cost, even if the UV-based cleansing technology is there as the USP. Both earbuds models are now available for purchase from LG online store, and will soon reach the offline market. The earbuds come in Modern White and Stylish Black colors. LG claims that the TONE Free earbuds contain silicone ear tips that can offer a snug fit to provide passive sound isolation. There is also an Ambient Mode on the earbuds to let the user press a button to hear the surrounding sounds. It also comes with an IPX4 rating for water splash protection, which means you can wear them when running or working out. Voice Command is also supported by both the models which is a feature that lets users call over the digital voice assistant on the paired device, such as Google Assistant or Siri. For music playback and call functions there is gesture control available.

Inside the charging case, the HBS-FN7 model comes with a 390mAh battery while each earbud has a 55mAh battery within it. The company claims 15 hours with ANC on and 21 hours with ANC off. The earbuds also support Bluetooth v5.1 for pairing with smartphones and other devices. To provide effective active noise cancellation, there are three microphones on the earbuds to offer, which can be controlled using the LG TONE FREE app. LG said in a statement that environmental noises are now almost completely neutralized with specialized ANC activated making every note and voice sounds more natural and more clear without losing a single detail from turning up the volume to maximum.
