Mumbai, October 13th 2025: For many students in Mumbai’s municipal schools, painting was once just a subject on the timetable. Today, it has become a source of pride and confidence – thanks to the quiet yet consistent efforts of Tvastra by Prachi Foundation which provides art education to underprivileged children.
The foundation conducts regular Saturday art classes at Pratiksha Nagar and Adarsh Nagar BMC schools. In these classes, children learn to paint and explore creativity through structured lessons led by professional art teachers.
Focused Exam Preparation at Pratiksha Nagar School
In the weeks leading up to the Maharashtra Elementary and Intermediate Drawing Grade Examinations held from September 24 to 27, 2025, Tvastra by Prachi Foundation organised special preparatory classes at Pratiksha Nagar School for students appearing for these government-recognised exams.
These sessions were conducted over a short period, covering all subjects included in the exam syllabus – still life, human design, memory drawing, plane and solid geometry, and lettering. Teachers worked closely with students to ensure they understood each concept clearly and got enough practice in every area before the exams.
To support equal learning opportunities, the foundation provided complete art kits. The focused preparation helped students feel more confident and well-prepared, ensuring that no topic was left uncovered despite the limited time.
Teachers observed steady improvement in students’ techniques and confidence. For many, this was their first time appearing for a formal art examination, giving them a strong sense of achievement.
Encouraging Equal Opportunity
“Our goal has always been to give every child a fair chance to learn and grow through art,” said Sumit Govind Sharma, Trustee of Tvastra by Prachi Foundation. “When children realise they can compete equally and succeed through their own effort, that’s where real progress begins.”
A Legacy of Art and Purpose
Tvastra by Prachi Foundation is founded by Sumit Govind Sharma for his Beloved Daughter Prachi, a young artist whose passion for art continues to inspire the initiative. Her belief that creativity can empower children guides every effort made by the foundation today.
Looking Ahead
Encouraged by the students’ dedication and the positive results, the foundation plans to extend its reach to more BMC and government-aided schools. Upcoming plans include student art exhibitions and continuous art sessions to prepare children for future exams and competitions.
