Oracle Declares new updates to Oracle SCM Cloud


Oracle is an IT software provider that provides products and services that address enterprise information technology (IT) environments, has recently announced the latest updates to Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing. The latest updates help customers to increase combination across supply networks, control supply chain assets and implement long-term supply chain planning.

Oracle provides a range of cloud-based applications and platforms also hardware and services to help companies to upgrade their processes. Oracle’s applications center on data management, enterprise resource planning, collaboration, content and experience, business analytics, security, IT operations management, and emerging technologies. In the last few years, Oracle has aggressively increased through acquisitions that have helped to build its cloud offerings. 

Rick Jewell, senior vice president of Oracle applications development stated that the last 12 months have extended supply chains to the limit as organizations wrestle with the disturbances of COVID-19, rapidly changing customer expectations, shifting global trade agreements, and many other unforeseen circumstances. The new capabilities within Oracle Cloud SCM help the customers to navigate this difficult and build more flexible businesses that can respond to today’s challenges and whatever comes next.

The new features and capabilities within Oracle Cloud SCM include:

Oracle Logistics Digital Assistant: It provides on-the-go access to real-time supply chain information through a conversational interface and also users can now acquire order status and shipment tracking remotely without having to traverse through the Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) application or to understand complex data mappings. 

Oracle AI Planning Advisor: Uses artificial intelligence ability embedded within Supply Chain Planning to exhibit recommendations that improve new product introduction and allow customers to respond to current and anticipated production disruptions.

Field Service Preventative Maintenance: For field service new preventative service flows and break-fix and installation capabilities are provided via Service Logistics Cloud.

Multi-Tier Supply Chain Collaboration: Oracle Supply Chain Collaboration can now adjust upstream supply information from multiple tiers of external organizations, such as on-hand balances, purchase order details, and work order details. The data is then shared with Oracle Supply Planning Cloud.

Planning for Project-Driven Supply Chain: Improves supply planning for project-specific material requirements and execution of purchase orders, transfer orders, and work orders. The customers are able to group projects and plan at the group level when supplies can be combined across many projects by matching demand and supply based on flexible rules.

New Channel Revenue Management Capabilities: Streamline trade programs by permitting organizations to create, resolve, and settle claims for overpayments and deductions.

Cross-Product Procurement Enhancements: External systems assist customers to combine and extend procurement processes via new and modified REST APIs. Oracle Procurement Cloud features huge links that provide navigation directly to application pages without using the menu structure and those links can be leveraged in a variety of ways, including in notifications, business intelligence reports, and third-party application pages.
