A partnership with celebrity fashion photographer Atul Kasbekar to release a 2021 limited edition calendar was revealed by Mi India. The calendar captured on the newly released Mi 10i smartphone pays an ode to India’s true heroes of 2020-the COVID warriors.
2020 has been a challenging year, but these exceptional people have sacrificed their lives in more than one way to protect others from being heroes. Using the Mi 10i’s camera excellence, Atul Kasbekar was able to use his artistic skills to catch these true warriors from several fields, such as community workers, medical employees, surgeons, nurses, and many more who kept going when we were quarantined at home. The whole 2021 calendar was captured on the latest Mi 10i smartphone with a 108 MP quad-camera configuration-a primary 108 MP camera, an 8 MP wide-angle lens, a 2 MP macro lens, and a 2 MP depth module.
This calendar is a photographic ode by Mi India to those who deserve our appreciation and celebration. It features such outstanding personalities such as Manish Mundra (Film Maker), Milind Chandwani (Social Worker), Ruchika Bhargava (Physiotherapist), Muffazal Lakdawala (Surgeon), Kunal Sharma (Advocate), Uma Rajeshwari (Event Manager), Kalish Mahida (Ward Supervisor), Syed Ghafoor (Sanitiser Field Assistant), Vir Das (Comedian).
“We recognize the sacrifices of frontline staff at Mi India, who have put their lives at risk to assure the safety of others. Our tiny ode to honoring these heroes and showcasing true tales of real people is the limited edition 2021 calendar captured by Atul Kasbekar. We decided to focus on stories that inspired the year that was, as we stepped into a new decade.” says Sumit Sonal marketing lead at Mi India
Photographer Atul Kasbekar says, ” Today, technology has helped everybody to capture some brilliant photos via their smartphone cameras. The 108MP camera of the Mi 10i helped me to capture images with some amazing sharpness. The photographs captured were exceptionally rich in details with a wide dynamic range and natural light, the tonal range of the pictures was absolutely beautiful and very similar to what could be seen on a professional camera. This calendar shows the many thousands in the nation who were there with the rest of us and did some remarkable work. It was a pleasure for me to catch their experiences and put a spotlight on these humble, unsung heroes of 2020”.
