Rapid digitization of the media industry has provided a paradigm shift in the path Indians consume content online. Content consumption on the open internet has exploded in the last 18 months. Based on the study by Global Web Index Indians on average, are spending as many as 8 hours a day online – 70 % of which is spent on the open net, which involves online content, over-the-top (OTT) & music streaming. In addition, the open internet grew at a much faster pace than the other online channels, even social media. OTT streaming and Online content grew 28% & 16% respectively, while social media grew by merely 1%.

The Trade Desk focuses on helping India’s digital marketers capture these fast-developing opportunities. With the Trade Desk’s industry-leading data-driven capabilities, marketers can approach a marketplace of premium advertising inventory across a wide range of apps, websites, podcasts & streaming OTT platforms. “Digital is the fast-growing advertising sector in India and, appropriately, marketers in India were looking for more transparency and belief as they shift more campaign budget there,” says Tejinder Gill the General Manager of India-The Trade Desk. “While Indian customers are spending 70% of their time on the open internet, almost 80% of India’s digital ad revenue still goes to the high tech platforms, which sit outside the open internet. The Trade Desk helps to bring the needed data-driven transparency and decision to India’s digital advertising ecosystem, offering marketers a credible choice where they can tap into the immense opportunities of the open internet.”
