Twitter is launching a new feature called Tip Jar, which will enable users to submit and receive tips. It’s a simple way to show your love for all of the people who contribute to Twitter conversations. This is the company’s first step toward creating new ways for people to receive and display support on Twitter using money. The functionality is currently rolling out to iOS and Android users who use Twitter in English.

The new Tip Jar feature, which can be accessed through a cash icon at the top of qualified profiles, allows users to send money to another user by connecting to their preferred payment provider. The user can then pick their preferred payment method or site, and they’ll be taken away from Twitter to the chosen app, where they can show their support in the amount they want.

In a blog post, Twitter explains that they could see users sharing their PayPal connection after their Tweet goes viral, adding their $Cashtag to their profile so that people can support their work, or dropping their Venmo handle on their birthday or when they just need a little extra help. They steer the Twitter discourse and want to make it easier for them to help one another beyond Follows, Retweets, and Likes.

So, they are introducing Tip Jar – a new way for people to send and receive tips. As the feature is still being tested by the company, so not all users will be able to add it now.

Ticketed Spaces is a new feature that allows developers to sell entry tickets for rooms on their spaces on Twitter. Spaces were also opened up to more people, enabling those with more than 600 Twitter followers to build their rooms.

Co-hosting is a new Twitter feature that allows multiple Twitter users to host rooms on Spaces together, as well as the ability to schedule rooms for later, making it easier for users to remember. In addition, the company stated that it is working to improve the live captions function on Spaces.

Facebook’s abrupt entrance into the audio-only social media space has put pressure on Spaces and Clubhouse. However, Twitter revealed this new Ticketed Spaces feature following the launch of Clubhouse’s new creator fund choice, which will be used to support creators on the site, as well as the addition of a payments feature that enables users to pay for rooms via the app.
