Today, civilization is known as the biggest human challenge. This pandemic made a chance for rethinking and realization of the effects that we made on earth. Our ecological footprints brought an adverse effect on the environment. The human effort may not be sufficient to heal the damages caused so far, but today’s little conscious efforts may promise our future generation a safer planet.

Like previous years, Tata Tiscon, India’s biggest brand in the construction industry, extended their efforts to spread the message of building a strong planet as a part of their sustainability initiative, Tata Tiscon Go Green. This year they released a digital film ‘ Plant for Planet’ on  World Environment day to encourage people to care for the environment and planet.

This film is conceptualized and executed by Wunderman Thompson South Asia. It says that our earth is the most beautiful planet and the only home we have in the universe. But it is dying nowadays. All important environmental issues are shown in the film within a small duration. It ends with a note that ‘Care for nature, so it can care for us, in this environment day, let’s pledge to build a greener tomorrow’.

Sanjay Sahni, Chief of Marketing and Sales, (Branded Products & Retail), Tata Steel said that the company is part of more than 5 lakh homes in India every year. It is very important for the brand to continue to promote building a safer planet and not just a safer home. The new digital film shows why it’s so important to build a safe planet.

Arjun Mukherjee, ECD & VP, Wunderman Thompson, Kolkata said, “This is our home attempts to build a sense of universal ownership amongst all home builders of India, to look beyond just their personal homes and review their responsibility towards the only home that humankind has, our planet Earth”

Vijay Jacob Parakkal, Senior VP & Managing Partner, Wunderman Thompson Kolkata, said, “We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children – this is a Native American Proverb. It is critical that we do everything possible to protect our Mother Earth and leave a healthy planet behind for our children. We are happy to partner Tata Tiscon to bring alive this simple yet extremely relevant message on this World Environment Day.”

Along with this digital film ‘Plant for the Planet’, the brand also conducted an online competition that was rolled out to 47 channel partners across India. It contributed around 1.4MnT of Tata Tiscon’s sales in FY’20, for encouraging the participation by them to build sustainability in their businesses. The best entries will win the Go Green Award from Tata Steel.
