Asus ROG Phone 5 appears to be around the corner as the phone was found on the websites in China. The first glimpse of the phone was also provided by a leaked hands-on video, but the complete set of specifications never managed to come out. Asus tested how well the ROG Phone 5 would do on the Geekbench 5 platform, where it disclosed the main phone specifications before the launch.

This will be the successor to the ROG Phone 3 that outshone other gaming phones in the under Rs 50,000 segment to become the top favorite pick. This year, with ROG Phone 5, which will be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, Asus is expanding its gaming offering. 16 GB of RAM will come with the ROG Phone 5, although an 8 GB version of RAM was also spotted earlier. The Asus ROG Phone 5 scored 1125 in the single-core test, while the multi-core ratings stand at 3714. The smartphone will also carry Android 11 apps, obviously with a custom ROG UI that will help enhance the gaming experience.

Asus model suggested the ROG Phone 5 will measure 172.834×77.252×10.29mm. The thickness of more than 10 mm is in line with the way gaming phones are designed to be. On the phone, as well, there will be a 6.78-inch display. For the high-end gaming experience, this could be an OLED screen with a refresh rate maxing out at 144Hz. The ROG Phone 5 has a 6000mAh battery, which was indicated by the 3C certification. 65W fast charging technology could be assisted by this battery, possibly with the aid of two USB-C ports.

A 64MP triple camera device on the back will possibly come with the Asus ROG Phone 5. This smartphone can come with a Sony sensor as the main one, just like the forerunner. This phone would have a secondary matrix monitor on the back to display warning alerts or relevant snippets on the smartphone about the game being played.

The launch of the ROG Phone 5 could take place sometime after the Chinese New Year on February 12. The smartphone launch in India will follow the launch in China.
