McDonald‘s India (West and South), managed by Westlife Development, has launched a campaign titled ‘Meals Make Families’ to emphasize the importance of mealtime in families. To highlight relatable moments that families experience when eating together, the campaign, which was conceptualized by DDB Mudra, has released several TV commercials.

A scene from one of the movies shows a young youngster asking his family at the lunch table if his grandfather may order McDonald’s in heaven. The grandfather, who cannot eat McDonald’s in heaven, visited his grandmother in a dream and begged her to give the grandson his half of the burger, his grandmother continues.

One family member always tends to ask for a bite of another family member’s food and devour nearly half of it, as shown in prior movies in the series. Another shows a grandfather making fun of the family’s father for being able to get offers and discounts using the McDonald’s app.

“Over 25 years of establishing McDonald’s in India, we have built special ties with all of our consumers, especially families,” said Arvind R.P., director – of marketing and communications, McDonald’s India West and South. People now want to spend more time with their loved ones than before the pandemic, which is a clear trend. Through this campaign, we hope to capitalize on this insight and position McDonald’s as the go-to brand for family mealtimes, an emotional occasion in which the company has something to give to every family member.”

Pallavi Chakravarti, creative head – West, DDB Mudra, stated that everyone who is working on this campaign just treated it as an extension of their own life and pulled from their own experiences since, admittedly, who hasn’t spent time with family members over more than a burger and fries, either at a McDonald’s or at home? It’s been a wonderful experience making this, and we wish it connects with everybody this campaign impacts.”
