MPL & Power to sponsor Indian team in Esports World Championship

Esports World Championships is scheduled to be held from 16 to 20 November 2021. The world championship is organised by International Esports Federation. The IeSF is an organisation dedicated to legitimizing electronic sports. 

The IeSF started hosting electronic sports tournaments from the 2009 “IeSF challenge”  and “IeSF World Championship” in 2011.

MPL Sports Foundation along with Power has collaborated with the Esports Federation of India to sponsor the Indian Team. The Indian team will participate in the Finals of the 13th Esports World Championship in Israel.

Esports World Championships will feature four official gaming titles and a promoted title. The official titles are eFootball™ 2022, DOTA 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Tekken 7.  

The multi-game event will offer a prize pool of USD 50,000 to the winners.

The world championship is scheduled to be held from November 16-20. A seven-member Indian team will compete in three categories for the championship.

The Indian team for the CounterStrike title has Ritesh Sarda as skipper, Shuvajyoti Chakraborty, Ninad Sonare, Anshul Adarkar, and Hrishikesh Shenoy.

Hitesh Khorwal aka rcool will compete for Tekken 7 title and Hemanth Kommu aka peshemak7 will compete for PES 2021 title.

The Asian nations that have qualified for the 13th IESF Esports World Championship are India, the Republic of Korea, Mongolia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, and Sri Lanka.

These seven countries from Asia have qualified for the world championship by winning a series of regional qualification rounds including the South Asian as well as the Asia qualifiers.

MPL Sports Foundation and Power are the title sponsors of the Indian team for the world championship. Power is the sneaker partner for Indian athletes.

The Indian gamers who come from diverse backgrounds will represent the country on the world stage. It is encouraging that the country has a great number of talents in every field. The Indian team is prepared to win and bring medals to the country.

Israel will host the first non-virtual electronic sports events since the pandemic. It will host 500 athletes from 85 nations for the world championship.
