The ‘Great Place to Work®‘ Certification 2022 has been awarded to NIVEA India. This certification recognizes the company’s outstanding efforts and dedication to living up to its mission of “Care Beyond Skin” and core principles on a daily basis.

NIVEA India has invested in its people and culture throughout the years, driving innovative people practices in areas such as inclusion and diversity, employee well-being, and growth.

NIVEA India has pushed the edge in its pursuit of excellence by instilling a digital-first mindset in its ecosystem. NIVEA India combines the excitement of a start-up with the wisdom of a nearly 140-year-old global organization, enriched by a challenging work environment and driven by an entrepreneurial spirit.

“At NIVEA India, we take special pride in building a unique culture that is consistent with our parent company’s core values of Care, Trust, Simplicity, Courage,” stated Neil George, Managing Director of NIVEA India. He also added that NIVEA has put a lot of time and effort into finding people who can embody their basic principles while also advancing the ambitions of their young and energetic organization into the future.

NIVEA India has implemented numerous initiatives and policies that function as accelerators for the workforce over the years. The following are some of the major themes:

Building an Inclusive Culture: NIVEA India is committed to creating a culture that is truly inclusive of all forms of diversity by embracing the individuality of each of its workers. This includes anything from designing gender-neutral jobs on the manufacturing floor to fostering an environment where women can thrive and grow through various enablers.

‘All for Women of NIVEA (WON),’ a dedicated mentoring programme for female talent, is one of the organization’s signature programmes. Gender equality is further strengthened by progressive legislation such as creche support, nanny allowance, and 30-day paternity leave. NIVEA further reaffirmed their commitment to LGBTQI+ inclusiveness by launching ‘Be You @ NIVEA India,’ a programme that promotes workplace understanding and sensitivity to the needs of LGBTQI+ employees through expert-led sessions and community involvement.

Digital at Heart: NIVEA India is well on its way to becoming a digital-first company. In addition to specific digital commerce and digital marketing teams and investments, the MD funds an incubation team to scale novel digital models.

India Goes Digital, an internal campaign, focused the entire organization on digital and created a shared knowledge of how it affects key business priorities, while also celebrating existing digital endeavours and sharing learnings both inside and outside the company.

Employee Well-being: Despite the challenges of the past two years, focused programmes on self-care, financial well-being, mental health, bereavement management, and stress have equipped the workforce to unleash their real potential. To combat COVID-19, several activities were made, including the procurement of medication, oxygen cylinders, emergency financial help, working with physicians, caregiver leaves, and so on.

Employees, their families, and third-party resources were all vaccinated on a wide scale, and 97 percent of employees are now twice vaccinated.
