Considered as the largest and the most premium public film screening company in India, PVR announced the re-opening of its top-class multiplex property PVR SAKET situated in the Community Centre, Saket today.

The re-opening was set aside by a special screening of the very exciting James Bond ‘No Time to Die’ movie for Delhi’s Who’s Who. It is the 25th James Bond movie and is coming after a gap of 6 years. It may be the fifth and final appearance of Daniel Craig as James Bond.

PVR SAKET, which is India’s first multiplex, has always been an embodiment of a modern cinema hall in its era and has received massive love from the viewers over the past two decades. When PVR introduced the concept of a multiplex in India in 1997, it was embedded in the ‘core Understanding of Indians’ and their affection for movies.

On one side, a generation had to travel all over the world and experience the best in cinema, on the other side, there was another generation getting access to the best in worldwide cinema with the help of the internet. PVR met this growing desire for cinema lovers by being the first to leap of their faith.

With its launch, the capital city found a crazy appreciation for cinema overnight. Multiplexes have brought about a comeback of the weak film industry by giving consumers the choice of movies at different showtimes, a magnificent ambiance, recent technologies, refreshments, lavishing comfort, top hospitality, a safe and hygienic environment, all leading to comprehensive family entertainment.

This brought audiences back to watching movies in cinema halls, improving occupancies, ticket pricing, and hence, revenues for the film industry in general.

The multiplex business is now a very important part of the cinema exhibition industry and is a large employment generator, recruiting over 1000’s people and improving their standard of living.

Today multiplexes have witnessed significant growth across major Indian cities, penetration in smaller towns due to rising urbanization and growing disposable incomes, ushered by the biggest revolution for Indian cinema.

With this opening, PVR strengthens its growth momentum in FY 2021-2022 with 849 screens at 177 properties in 72 cities (India and Sri Lanka).
