World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2022: Yashram Lifestyle Brands launches #BeShameless campaign

Menstrual Hygiene Day (MHD, MH Day in short) is an annual awareness day on May 28 to focus on the importance of excellent menstrual hygiene management (MHM) at a world level. It had been initiated by the German-based NGO WASH United in 2013 and observed for the primary time in 2014.

Today, a lot of women and girls* round the world are stigmatized, excluded, and discriminated against just because they menstruate. It’s not acceptable that due to a natural bodily process women and girls still be prevented from getting an education, earning an income, and fully and equally participating in standard of living.

Bangalore-based Yashram Lifestyle Brands Pvt Ltd has launched campaign #BeShameless to commemorate the globe menstrual hygiene day. The campaign encourages women and men to own more conversations about periods and make them an element of the mainstream.

Shot in a very real-life documentary narrative, with real conversations with real people, the video series brings to light some old and a few new aspects of the amount conversation that must be spoken about.

Deepa Kumar Founder & CEO of Yashram Lifestyle, said, “There is more that has to be exhausted the menstrual hygiene space. This campaign focuses on the necessity for removing the taboo around such conversations in everyday lives in everyday homes.

“This could be a life-changing event in every girl’s life. However, it cannot keep getting rid of her freedom and boxes her in another layer of bias. The more we normalize this discussion with women and men in our homes and surroundings; we remove its power to carry a lady back. So, speak up,” Kumar added.
