We need to rethink who our instructors are, says UpGrad, a leader in edutech solutions These people are irreplaceable, but it’s time to include those who’ve made their presence known comparable to the emergence and prominence of educational technology in our lives, such as teachers, administrators, and parents.

New instructors are being highlighted in three advertisements developed by the brand’s in-house team and Mantavya, a production company. We have peers who educate us as they learn, career counsellors and coaches who make sure we don’t screw up an interview, and the nice guys from learners support who stay up all night to assist us to sort out our difficulties.

Teachers’ Day in India is observed yearly on September 5 to commemorate the birth of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the country’s former president, academic, philosopher, and Bharat Ratna awardee. They asked him for permission to commemorate the 5th of September as an official holiday when he became India’s second president in 1962. He instead asked them to mark September 5 as Teachers’ Day to recognize teachers’ contributions to the community, a suggestion that was met with enthusiasm.

September 5 has been Teacher’s Day at schools, colleges, and universities ever since. To demonstrate their appreciation for their favourite instructors, students act, dance, and put on extravagant displays. Schools and institutions were closed last year due to the Covid-19 epidemic, thus the traditional school holidays were substituted with virtual ones. Numerous colleges and universities continue to offer online courses despite a Covid-19 epidemic and a fear of a Delta version spreading.

If you’re no longer in school or college, virtual greetings and wishes are a great way to show your instructors how much you appreciate them. A quality education relies on educators, who are among the very few individuals in our life who enjoy it when we, their students outperform our instructors.

According to Arjun Mohan, CEO-India of UpGrad, “This is the result of a debate that took place within  UpGrad about how to best help students in understanding their career goals.” We go the additional mile for our students to instill confidence and encourage them to make great adjustments on their own.”

We believe that teachers are no longer restricted to industry professionals who teach ideas, but also include peers and student mentors who follow the learners on their up-skilling path. “
